CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The Chatham County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has made an arrest after a 15-year-old girl was rescued from a suspected human trafficking ring, Sheriff Richard Coleman announced Tuesday.

The investigation began just hours after the CCSO announced their Human Trafficking Unit when the Oklahoma Police Department contacted CCSO about a young girl who was believed to be in "grave danger," an official said.

After locating the young girl, CCSO obtained an arrest warrant for Iven Dwane Richardson, 30, of Alabama. He was arrested without incident Tuesday at the Green Oaks Apartment complex, located off of Ogeechee Road in Savannah.

During his arrest, law enforcement a vehicle that they believe transported the victim.
