ST. LOUIS — City prosecutors dropped a murder charge on Wednesday after a grand jury declined to indict a man with killing his pregnant girlfriend in 2019.

Marquise Quinn, 26, was charged last month with a single count of first-degree murder in the May 2019 killing of his girlfriend, Kristina Curry, outside Roosevelt High School. She was pregnant with his child.

This week, prosecutors took the case before a grand jury to get an indictment and move the case forward — a step in all city felony prosecutions.

But on Wednesday, prosecutors filed to dismiss the charge, saying the grand jury didn't find enough probable cause to indict him. Grand jury proceedings are confidential.
