SHREVEPORT, La. — The Unity in the Community Celebration is marking a milestone this week, with events planned in Shreveport to honor 25 years of bringing people together.

Rev. Don Taylor Sr. appeared on KTBS 3 Midday to share details about the annual event, which promotes fellowship, cultural pride and community service.

The celebration begins Friday with the appreciation awards ceremony at The Events Center, 7288 Greenwood Road, Suite 105. The event is already sold out.

Festivities continue Saturday with a parade and festival starting at 11 a.m. at Green Oaks High School. Organizers say the day will feature family-friendly activities, entertainment and opportunities to connect with neighbors across the community.
