White House Says Democrats are Shutting Down the Government for Political Reasons

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed reporters outside the White House on Thursday, October 2. When Leavitt was asked about the government shutdown she largely blamed Democrats, saying “Democrats know what the right thing to do is, and it’s to reopen the federal government.”
