Gangland kingpin Tony Mokbel will finally learn whether his Lawyer X bid to quash drug convictions has succeeded.
The 60-year-old will face the Victorian Court of Appeal on Friday morning where three justices are set to hand down their decision, following his three-day appeal hearing in September.
He is seeking to overturn his drug-trafficking and importation convictions, claiming they were tainted because of barrister-turned-informer Nicola Gobbo.
Ms Gobbo was registered as a Victoria Police informer from 2005 to 2009 and was acting as Mokbel's lawyer for four years before he fled to Greece in 2006.
She continued to advise him when he was extradited back to Melbourne in 2008.
