EPHRATA, Wash. (WJW) -- A 3-year-old boy in Washington state reportedly found a live, World War II-era hand grenade in the front yard of his family's home in Hartline.
He brought it to his parents, who then called 911, according to a Tuesday, Sept. 30, Facebook post from the sheriff's office in Washington state's Grant County.
"The grenade was of a type used during the Second World War and had clearly been exposed to the elements for some time," reads the post. "It’s not known how the grenade ended up in the family’s front yard, nor how long it had been there."
