LAGUARDIA AIRPORT — A FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS INJURED AND A COCKPIT DAMAGED WHEN TWO DELTA REGIONAL JETS COLLIDED at LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night, Oct. 1.
The Associated Press and Spectrum News NY1 reported that the Delta Connection jets, both CRJ-900 planes, were involved in a “low-speed collision” when they made physical contact on the taxi runway. The wing of a jet about to depart for Roanoke, Virginia clipped the fuselage of an arriving plane from Charlotte, North Carolina, damaging the latter plane’s cockpit. There were no reports of passenger injuries although one flight attendant sustained a non-life threatening injury. Although it was not clear at first which pilot was at fault, air traffic control had instructed the outbound plane to yield to the other aircraft,
