New Delhi, Oct 2: French authorities have arrested the captain and first officer of a sanctioned oil tanker believed to be part of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet,” Reuters reported on Thursday.

The arrests came after the French navy boarded the vessel, named Boracay, which is suspected of links to recent drone activity near Denmark.

On September 22, the tanker was located about 50 nautical miles south of Copenhagen at the time drone movements prompted the temporary closure of the city’s airport, according to MarineTraffic data cited by Reuters.
