KIGOMA CITY — After news broke this week that the renowned primatologist and conservationist had passed away at the age of 91, a large group of chimps honored Jane Goodall with a 21-poo salute.
The primates gathered at the Gombe National Park in Tanzania, where Goodall spent many years closely studying chimpanzee life and behavior, bestowing upon her the highest chimp honor of flinging handfuls of their own feces through the air in reverence.
"Ooo ooo EEE EEE AHHHH EEE!" said Chuckles, the spokeschimp for the group, in a brief statement to the media before taking his place at the end of the long line of respectful poo-throwers.
One local primatologist provided translation for the group of mourning chimpanzees. "This is a tremendous show of respect for Ms. Goodall," said Dr. Renee Treadw
