Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Thursday that six Mexicans are among the international flotilla carrying activists seeking to break Israel’s blockade of the Palestinian territory.
Sheinbaum said her government has requested Israel provide information on why they were intercepted, and demanded the complete safety and immediate repatriation of the Mexican nationals.
“We know that they are currently in the port” and that they intend to take them to a detention center, but they have not yet been able to receive consular support, she said.
"They have not committed any crime.”
Sheinbaum reiterated her government's “recognition of the Palestinian state in its entirety.”
“We demand that humanitarian aid be allowed to arrive and that this harassment against Gaza stops,” she said.
