HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department says the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division is offering a reward in the investigation of the 2013 shooting of Lt. Col. Alonzo McGhee.

HPD said it continues to work with CID in investigating the colonel's death, and the CID is now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

The department said on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, around 10:30 p.m., Lt. Col. McGhee was found suffering from gunshot wounds in a driveway in the 7000 block of Pale Dawn Place. McGhee later died from his injuries.

Since that time, HPD said it and CID have jointly investigated, but the case remains unsolved.
