JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Back in 2017, local Judge Aubrey Moran’s gynecologist suggested she get an MRI — even though her mammogram was clear and no lump could be felt. That MRI changed everything.
“The MRI is what found the breast cancer,” Moran recalled.
She went through treatment and believed that chapter of her life was closed.
But about four and a half years ago, everything changed again as Moran needed emergency gallbladder surgery. During the procedure, her doctor noticed something unusual in her abdomen. He reassured her not to worry, but because she had a history of breast cancer, he decided to send a sample for a biopsy.
