Six people were hospitalized, including one elderly person with critical injuries, after a serious crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 40 in Chatham-Kent, provincial police say.
The two-vehicle collision happened on Highway 40, north of Chatham, at about 3:46 p.m.
An 80-year-old passenger, of Chatham-Kent, was taken to hospital with critical injuries, OPP stated in a Thursday media release.
The driver of the same vehicle, an 87-year-old, of Chatham-Kent, was taken to hospital with serious injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle, 67-year-old of Chatham-Kent, and three passengers, ages 41,19 and 14, of Lambton County, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
