STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 26-year-old NYPD officer was arrested on Staten Island on Thursday morning for an alleged hit-and-run incident, police said.

Alfredo Loyogarcia was apprehended just after 6 a.m. while he was off duty at an undisclosed location in the 121st Precinct, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The precinct, based in Graniteville, encompasses parts of the North and West shores of Staten Island.
