ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced one of its most prestigious award winners.
IDOT chose the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) as the Primary Airport of the Year on Monday. A Primary Airport is said to be an airport with at least 10,000 annual passengers, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The award was presented in Galena at the Illinois Public Airports Association fall conference.
RFD is said to have won the title for its strong partnership with IDOT, friendly customer service, facility maintenance, and promotion of aviation and education programs.
