TYLER, Texas (KETK)-- An arrest was made on Wednesday evening after a witness reported to the Tyler Police Department that he saw a woman leave two dogs in a hot vehicle for at least an hour.
According to an arrest affidavit, around 5:18 p.m., Tyler PD responded to Skidmore Lane, where two white Labrador retrievers were left in a Gray Ford that wasn't running.
"I approached the vehicle and observed both dogs panting from the heat," the officer explained. "My patrol vehicle thermometer was reading 90 degrees at the time officers were investigating."
The document said the officer then opened the back hatch of the vehicle and saw that one of the dogs was left inside a kennel, and neither had water.
