Houston is home to the largest Nigerian population outside of Nigeria, and the Nigeria Cultural Parade and Festival reflects that community's vibrant contributions while inviting all Houstonians to share in a cultural exchange. Now in its ninth year, the celebration features a colorful parade filled with history, tradition, and culture.

In the audio above, festival organizer Jane Udoewa Brown spoke with Michael Hagerty about the traditional attire, masquerades, drummers, and community groups participating in this year's event. Musicians Babatunde Ogunseinde and Samuel Olowolayemo also joined to share a taste of the music audiences can expect to hear at the festival.
