WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Whataburger will open its first Winston-Salem restaurant October 6 at 291 Harvey St., marking the Texas-based chain’s continued expansion in the Triad after launching in Greensboro in July.
The restaurant will open at 9 a.m., with the first 100 customers receiving a swag bag along with a free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit or Breakfast Taquito. A “Whatabash” celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. will feature a video game truck, face painting and a prize wheel.
The new location includes a double drive-thru, spacious dining room, digital menu boards and a custom mural highlighting Winston-Salem landmarks. It will employ about 85 local workers, who the company refers to as “Family Members.”
Jalen Sumpter will serve as the restaurant’s operating partner, the company announced.
