WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors will seek at least 30 years in prison Friday for the woman who traveled across the country to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh before turning herself in at the last moment.

Sophie Roske , 29, pleaded guilty in April to attempted assassination of a justice of the United States just two months before she was scheduled to begin a jury trial. Without that plea – entered into without the benefit of a deal from the government – prosecutors said Roske would have faced a recommended sentence of life in prison had she been convicted at trial.
