ATLANTIC CITY — A proposed outdoor gym and bar next to the Showboat Resort Atlantic City will not be happening, according to developer Bart Blatstein's company, which says it has "exciting" plans for the site for next summer.
Brandon Dixon, president of Tower Investments, said Thursday the gym project, which was largely built and awaiting permission from a state agency to open, is being rethought.
"Things just didn't work out for this particular summer with permitting and some issues we didn't expect," he said. "We have exciting things happening there next year."
"The concept has changed," Dixon said. "I can't divulge the details, but it will incorporate some fitness aspects."
Applicant Tony Chowdhury had hoped to have his Fusion Gym up and running in July.
