Evan Li, a Calgary high school student said he will continue to advocate for better teaching conditions

Evan Li, the Calgary high school student whose mic was cut off at the Alberta Next panel on Monday, said he was just in the right place at the right time — but he’s using his newfound platform to further advocate for Alberta’s students and teachers.

“I’ve been given this unique opportunity, and I’d like to use the public platform that I have right now to speak out on behalf of Alberta students and teachers, and on behalf of other groups have not who have not been receiving the attention they need,” Li said.

“I think if youth use their voices actively, those in power cannot ignore us.”
