PELLA, Iowa —

Central College in Pella is receiving a large gift from the Noel Cover Foundation, which is donating nearly $1 million to support student research.

It will cover scholarships for students studying scientific, mechanical and social research. Over the years, the foundation has donated about $2.4 million to Central College .

“The Noel Cover Foundation’s generosity powerfully impacted generations of Central students,” said Sunny Gonzales Eighmy, the college's vice president for advancement and a 1999 alumna. “These scholarships opened many doors and empowered students to do a world of good. We are incredibly grateful for the foundation’s partnership and the transformative legacy it leaves behind.”
