LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Budweiser Clydesdales took a trip to Lincoln this week, appearing in the Haymarket’s Railyard this afternoon.
Budweiser says the famous teams of horses make hundreds of trips across the country every year, but can be viewed any time in St. Louis at the Anheuser-Busch brewery.
Clydesdales were originally brought to the U.S. in the mid 1800s as draft horses used for farm work, but today are primarily bred for show.
They’ve been the mascot of Anheuser-Busch since 1933, when a team of the horses was presented to August Anheuser Busch Sr. to celebrate the end of Prohibition.
The horses will be in Lincoln until Saturday, with another showing Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fallbrook Super Saver, and again on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. They’ll be arriving around 1
