DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State Senator Dave Sires is urging the state’s Board of Education to consider taking over Des Moines Public Schools due to growing concerns over its employment practices .

State Senator Sires said that this mismanagement must not be allowed to continue, and has called on the State Board to consider all options.

“The continued developments and national media attention surrounding this school district is not only embarrassing but alarming,” said Sires. “We cannot allow this mismanagement to continue unchecked, and the State Board must explore all available options, including a full takeover, so that our students receive the education they deserve and tax dollars are responsibly managed.”
