BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge judge has issued rulings in the lawsuit filed by Madison Brooks’ father against the owners of Reggie’s Bar in Tigerland and more than 20 other defendants, after her death in January 2023.

The suit claims that the bar’s owners, Darin Adams and John Landry, along with bartenders, managers, a Lyft driver, and several other individuals and companies, are responsible for Brooks’ death.

Brooks, 19, was struck by a vehicle around 3 a.m. near Pelican Lakes Parkway after leaving Reggie’s. East Baton Rouge deputies said that Brooks had a blood alcohol content of .319% and injuries consistent with sexual assault.

Four suspects, Kaivon Washington, Casen Carver, Everett Lee, and Desmond Carter, were arrested.
