Bermuda is a model for resiliency.

Category 2 Hurricane Imelda’s nucleus crossed over the British Overseas Territory late night on Wednesday and produced wind gusts of 60 to 100 miles per hour, depending on how high off the ground they were measured.

And yet, other than a power outage over about half of the archipelago for several hours, Bermudans are waving Imelda goodbye yelling, "is that all you’ve got?!"

The truth is Bermuda is about the most hurricane hardened spot on the planet. A cluster of hurricanes from 1891 to 1939 taught residents that they needed to strengthen their buildings to the point where they could stand up to frequent tropical cyclones.
