OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Audubon Area Community Services hosted their 11th-annual Veteran’s Fair at the National Guard Armory.

The free event was open to all veterans and their family members.

Officials say about 60 vendors and service programs were there to hand out information.

They say it’s important because some don’t even know resources are available to them.

“We have introduced them to resources they didn’t even know were out there for them,” says Heather Yeiser, Director of Employment Services. “They’re able to come here and get everything that they need. They’re able to learn about resources they don’t have. And I’ll tell you what they really comment on a lot, is just the socialization.”

Attendees were also able to enjoy free food, haircuts, pictures and prizes.
