Ameren Missouri invests $25k toward infrastructure in Delta, as tornado recovery continues

DELTA, Mo. (KFVS) - It’s been six months since Ameren crews had to rebuild Delta’s entire electric grid after a devastating tornado.

Thursday, Ameren Missouri announced the donation of more than $25,000 to the Cape Area Community Foundation. Delta leaders say the donation will help revitalize the community.

“Well, I mean, we’re seeing that people are starting to build back,” said Delta Mayor Mary Jo Barlow.

Crews continue working in Delta after an EF-2 tornado caused significant damage to the town in April.

Mayor Mary Jo Barlow said the money will support park improvements, including adding a walking trail.

“We don’t really have anything like that here in this town. And so, for the kids, hopefully, some new playground equipment. What we have is probably what’s there when I was a kid,”
