The father of Keith Urban's rumoured new love interest has spoken out in the wake of the singer's separation from superstar wife Nicole Kidman.

Chuck Baugh, whose 25-year-old daughter Maggie plays guitar for the singer, has made ambiguous comments as to whether the pair are romantically linked.

"I don't know anything about it, other than she's a guitar player for him," he told the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Baugh's father, who revealed he met Urban last year during a concert in Las Vegas, added that he believes his daughter's relationship with the country crooner is simply a professional one.

"It's more of a musician thing than a dating thing," he said, before going on to admit that he hasn't "heard one way or the other".

According to TMZ, Chuck also shared a TikTok video claiming that his daughter may be the person responsible for Urban's divorce.

"No. Just No," he replied via Facebook.

The news of Kidman and Urban's split first broke on Monday.

Several recent onstage interactions between Baugh and Urban have resurfaced over the past week. In September, Baugh shared a clip of Urban changing the lyrics to his song The Fighter to reference her.

Urban tweaked the lyrics from "When they're tryna get to you, baby, I'll be the fighter" to "When they're tryna get to you, Maggie, I'll be your guitar player" during a performance.

"Did he just say that?" Baugh wrote in her Instagram caption.
