LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The growth of South Main Street in Little Rock has brought more business and more traffic.

As we first reported back on Sept. 25 , neighbors said that speeding cars are putting both pedestrians and cyclists at risk.

This is why the 'Slow Down SoMa' campaign is pushing for changes to make the district safer for everyone.

Business and city leaders joined together on Thursday to announce a new traffic-calming project that's going into effect on 15th and Main.

Beginning Friday at noon and ahead of the Fiesta en SoMa festival, some temporary improvements will be installed — these consist of a new median to narrow lanes and slow traffic, painted bike lanes, and added greenery.
