BOISE — The Idaho State Tax Commission says taxpayers who qualified for an automatic extension to file their taxes must send in their return and full payment by Oct. 15.

According to a Wednesday press release from the Tax Commission, Idaho law allows residents to late filing penalties if they have an extension: however, they’ll still owe 6% interest on any income tax due that was unpaid by the original due date of April 15 — tax payment is due when the return is filed, regardless of extensions.
