A 52-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the discovery of a body found inside a burned car last month at a South Los Angeles tow yard, police announced Thursday.

The body was found Sept 9 in a blue Honda Civic in a lot located west of Western Avenue near Gage Street. The rear of the Honda appeared to have fire damage.

Detectives with the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit responded to the yard. It was not immediately clear when or why the Honda was brought to the tow yard.

On Sept. 16, search warrants were served at two locations in connection with the investigation, police said. Officers arrested Sandra Romo Diaz, of Los Angeles, on suspicion of murder.
