BRAINERD — After back-to-back losses and injuries all over the place, the Brainerd Warriors are on their heels headed into a Week Six matchup with Class 5A’s ninth-ranked Monticello Magic Friday, Oct. 3, at Adamson Field.

The Warriors are coming off a 44-14 loss to rival Bemidji, which dropped them to 3-2. Monticello stomped Buffalo last week 52-14 to move to 4-1.

“I didn’t think that the score last week for us was indicative of how we played,” Warriors’ head coach Jason Freed said. “Our big emphasis has been consistency. We had it to a one-score game in the last three minutes of the first half and it got away from us. Our schedule doesn’t get any easier, so we have to continue to teach and hopefully show some growth. It’s all a part of the process.”
