KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The new Continuum of Care Board in Knoxville is hoping to directly address homelessness in Knox County.

“I think we’ll be able to help a lot of people,” said Chris Kelley, who is part of CoC.

The board was started up by the Knoxville-Knox County Office of Housing Stability and it’s goal is to lower and prevent homelessness through a three-year plan .

For Kelley, he says it’s personal and he’s using his past to bring other people up and out of homelessness.

“I became homeless in 2015. You feel lower than everyone and you’re not,” said Kelley. “I mean, you’re just a person like anyone else. Just something bad happened and it got you in a bad place.”
