Arrest made in death of person found inside car in South L.A.

Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of a 52-year-old woman in connection with a body found in the trunk of a car in a South Los Angeles tow yard.

Sandra Romo Diaz, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested Sept. 16 after search warrants were executed at multiple locations, police said in a news release.

She has since been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with murder.

On Sept. 9, the charred remains of a person were found inside a Honda Civic at S&J Wilshire Tow in the South L.A. neighborhood of Chesterfield around noon, police said. The Civic had been impounded at the yard,
