PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Dozens of local students are walking away from the We Build Giants camp with new skills and a new outlook on their future careers.

The weeklong program, supported by SparkForce and BuildSubmarines.com, gave middle and high schoolers hands-on training in trades like welding, electrical work, and advanced manufacturing.

For Trinity Lott, a middle school student, the camp was more than just a learning opportunity.

“Considering it’s the last day, I’m a little sad,” Lott said. “I enjoyed this program. Waking up in the morning, I was not mad that I had to come here. I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to have fun and learn how to build stuff.’”

She says the experience revealed talents she didn’t know she had.
