A semi truck fire has closed the far right lane of southbound Interstate 5 north of Highway 138, the California Highway Patrol said Thursday.

The closure is expected to last for an unknown duration, and officials are urging drivers to use caution while traveling through the area.

Motorists are advised to follow behind traffic at a safe distance, avoid abrupt lane changes, limit distractions inside the vehicle and remain focused on safe driving, officials said.
