GUWAHATI: Assam police on Thursday invoked murder charge against Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta in connection with the death of the singer in Singapore last month. They also arrested Garg’s drummer Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and actress Amritprabha Mahanta, taking the total arrests in the case to four. Mahanta was the organiser of the North East India Festival in Singapore where Garg was slated to perform on Sep 20. The 52-year-old singer drowned a day before while swimming in the sea. The SIT quizzed some other suspects, too. These include Assam police officer Sandipon Garg (Garg’s cousin), actor Nishita Goswami and the owner of a local TV channel, Sanjive Narain.
