LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Construction is officially underway on a major expansion at Joe T. Robinson High School in west Little Rock.

District leaders held a ceremony Thursday to kick off construction on a new classroom building, band facility and storm shelter.

The new structure will connect to the existing school, and officials estimate construction will take 18 to 21 months to complete.

Principal Laconya Isaac said the project represents more than a physical upgrade.

“This expansion is more than just construction,” Isaac said. “It is an investment for opportunity for students, family, and for the west Little Rock community.”
