After many months of delays and changes of legal counsel, a criminal harassment case against a former Fraser Valley music teacher is set to come to an end later this month.

Bevin van Liempt, 34, had been a prominent figure in the local music scene for many years, holding teaching positions at the Bakerview Music Academy

and other music organizations in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

However, that all came to an end when van Liempt was arrested and charged in 2024 with two counts of criminal harassment against former students of his. He pleaded guilty to both charges in February of this year.
