OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska service providers say they are already feeling the impact of the government shutdown , just two days in.
Angel Guardians, a nonprofit that serves people with developmental disabilities , says the uncertainty surrounding funding is raising major concerns. Leaders worry about their ability to grow in the future — including hiring new employees and adding families to their programs.
They also say the lack of clarity is creating distrust among families who depend on their services.
According to the Congressional Budget Office , since the passage of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” more than $1 trillion is expected to be cut from Medicaid nationwide over the next decade. Advocacy groups fear the shutdown could prevent them from fighting for more funding before it’s
