Only a few months ago, New York was receiving buses full of migrants, a system that started in 2022.
That journey, from countries all around the world to New York City, is the focus of a new documentary called “Roads of Fire.”
The film focuses on the many people involved in global migration, including an immigrant family, a smuggler and volunteers on the front line. The film opened in theaters Wednesday.
Nathaniel Lezra, director of the film, and community organizer Adama Bah, founder of Afrikana, a community center in Harlem helping connect asylum seekers with vital services, joined “Inside City Hall” to discuss the film and the city’s current relationship with migrants.
