PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A man has been acquitted of attempted murder charges in Multnomah County after the victim of a shooting forgave his accused shooter, asking the jury for a lighter sentence.
Two years ago, Samuel Graziano was shot in the head by a stranger. Graziano said on May 12, 2023, that he started an argument with the shooter and allowed it to escalate.
With the bullet still lodged in the base of his skull, he went to court.
“I think that it’s important, of course, we all be held accountable and that he’s given an actual, sincere opportunity to have the best life possible rather than just, well, let’s get him out of society for a couple of years,” Graziano said in his victim impact statement. “I know that he can become something incredible.”
