SEATTLE, Wash. – Negotiations over federal funding have reached a stalemate, with health insurance tax credits at the center of the debate. This comes as millions of Americans are making decisions about their insurance.

Since the Affordable Care Act was passed, Harborview's uninsured population dropped from 11% to 5%. However, with the effects of H.R. one and the expiration of tax credits, the situation may revert to pre-ACA levels, said a Harborview official.

The chief medical officer, David Zonies, with Harborview in Seattle stated that over one-third of their patients rely on Medicaid for health care.
