JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) — Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a situation near the Rivers Hill area Wednesday evening. They issued a warning for residents in the area to avoid that location while deputies responded to a situation involving an armed person Wednesday night.

According to JCSO the man fired shots at law enforcement and ran off into the woods off Beaver Dam Road.

JCSO deputies found the person and transported them to a medical center for evaluation.
