GRAND FORKS — The UND men's golf program is on a roll.
Last week, the Fighting Hawks won a meet for the first time in the Division I era.
On Thursday, the program hosted a golf event in Grand Forks for the first time in the Division I era.
The Hawks were happy hosts, too, beating in-state rival North Dakota State by five strokes during a dual at the Grand Forks Country Club.
"It was a special day on the course today," UND coach Todd Schaefer said. "We not only got great rounds of golf in, but to be able to do this in Grand Forks against our in-state rival is really special and a great experience for our players. Super appreciative to everyone for making this happen."
UND trailed by seven strokes with just a few holes remaining but the Hawks sank nine birdies over the final four holes
