LAFAYETTE, Ind.(WLFI) - Nyssa Craton is bring new flavors to Lafayette with her brand new wine, 'Back Porch Persimmon'.

Craton recently bought Wildcat Creek Winery this past spring, and she says this is the first wine she's releasing as owner of the business.

Craton describes it as a unique fall flavor that's perfect to bring to thanksgiving, but this flavor has a backstory.

Craton's mother-in-law has a persimmon tree and the fruit has always been made into persimmon pudding for their family holiday celebrations.

"She usually has so much extra persimmon that I've been threatening to make it into a wine for years, and so we finally did it," said Craton.
