SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - With the cold, flu, and RSV seasons starting, Missouri hospitals are gearing up for more patients.
One way hospitals are preparing is through hands-on training. MU Health’s Mobile Clinical Simulator enables healthcare professionals to practice handling challenging scenarios before they encounter them in real-life situations. It offers ongoing education to healthcare providers in rural areas and can be customized to meet their specific needs.
During the simulations, Education Outreach Coordinator Riley Witte controls the mannequins from behind a one-way mirror. They can breathe, talk, and have some human anatomy.
“We partner with local educators to provide training that’s relevant and what they think will be most useful for their providers,” Witte said.
