NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development senior research scientist Richard Hayes told the Parkes Grazing Forum all landholders should be monitoring their soil pH.

"Acidity is a natural effect and all ag systems are acidifying so it should be something on all our radars," he said.

He said it was frequently underestimated, due to both issues with soil sampling practices and with the interpretation of those results.
