AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A proposed solar farm north of Amarillo is drawing questions from Potter County leaders and pushback from residents who say they are worried about the project's impact on their homes and quality of life.

The Oneida 2 Solar Project, part of Xcel Energy and Southwestern Public Service's portfolio, would span about 1,300 acres between Western Street and Broadway, north of Loop 335 and south of Cherry Avenue. Documents list the project's planned generating capacity at 254 megawatts, with a substation to connect to the regional grid.
